In the same boat

Abstract In this paper, we analyze what effects indicators of a shared situation have on speaker’s persuasiveness by investigating how robot’s advice is received when it indicates that sharing the situational context with its user. our experiment, 80 participants interacted robot referred to aspects context: Face tracking indicated saw participant, incremental feedback suggested was following their actions, and comments about, gestures towards, physical linguistic references dialog history had learned from interaction perceived surroundings. The results show especially gestural significant influence participants’ compliance suggestions. Thus, indicating ‘in same boat’ user, i.e. context, increases during giving.
